A little history of Liget Royal Restaurant – a glimpse into the past Part II. The Ferenczi Hotel is in new hands
As we learned in the first part of our series, the Ferenczi Hotel once stood on the site of the Liget Royal Restaurant in Hévíz. The career of its namesake owner was cut short by a murder that was deemed intentional during a hunting trip. In 1931, Ferenczi was sentenced to two years in prison for the crime of intentional homicide, which he committed during a hunting trip that ended tragically.
Unfortunately, we were unable to uncover any further details about the circumstances of the tragedy. However, we do know that Ferenczi lost his hotel, which fell into the hands of the Friedrich brothers.Thanks to Andor Krakovszky’s photo, we can take one last look at the everyday life of the predecessor of the Liget Royal Restaurant, the Ferenczi Hotel. The photo, restored with artificial intelligence, clearly shows the details, beautifully laid tables, elegant guests and waiters.
